GCP Environment Preparation

Set up the following in your GCP environment before creating a Spotter integration.

Configure billing data

Spotter reads your cost and usage data from BigQuery, so you need a detailed billing export.

• Enable the detailed usage cost export to BigQuery. See Google's guide: Export Cloud Billing data to BigQuery.

• Note the project that hosts the export dataset and the dataset.table of the export — you enter both in Spotter later.

Configure Security Command Center

Spotter reads your compliance findings from Security Command Center.

• Activate Security Command Center at the organization level. See Google's guide: Security Command Center quickstart.
