This guide will help to get you started once in Spotter.
1. Finding Your Way Around

Home is your starting point after login — summaries from other features.

Navigation/main features are in the menu on the left side of the screen.

Click any menu item to open that feature. What you see on the nav, depends on the access rights you have.

Access rights: Each user has a role that controls what they can see and do.
-
Admins see everything and can manage users, integrations, and settings.
-
Cloud Admins (e.g. AWS Admin) can see all AWS data and manage AWS users, integrations, and settings.

Regular users can view data and do not have access to organization level settings.

Admins can manage users accees rights and visibility to main features from Admin → Users → Edit user

Users! If something is missing from your navigation, ask admin to grant access.
2. Main Features

Home – Overview dashboard summarizing your costs, compliance, recommendations etc.

Costs – See what you're spending, broken down by account, service, or region, with monthly trends and year-end forecasts.

Optimization – Practical ways to save money (e.g. commitments, resizing or reserving resources).
-
Advisor – Best-practice tips for security, reliability, and performance.
-
Compliance – Your security score and any issues measured against standards (e.g. CIS Benchmark).

Infra – A searchable list of all your cloud resources (servers, databases, storage, etc.).

Sustainability – Estimations from the carbon emissions and energy usage from your cloud environment.

All main features allow you to use filters to narrow down the data and create presets to save useful combinations of filters for quick access later.

To create a preset, simply select some filters (e.g. projects and regions) and click button to save it.

Some features allow you to also export data to .csv files.
3. User Settings

Profile – View your details and access rights.
-
Notifications – Set up Cost - and Compliance Spotters

These are configurable email alerts/notifications for costs and compliance monitoring.

Can't see a feature? It may not be enabled for your account — ask your Spotter admin.
